The professional association of gynecologists is a corporation under private law that has set itself the goal of promoting the interests of gynecologists in Germany . The association had 15,017 members on December 31, 2019. The association is based in Munich . It is entered in the register of associations of the Hamburg District Court , Department 69 with the business number VR 6350.

aims

As one of the largest professional medical associations , the association represents the special interests of authorities, medical and other organizations, especially medical associations and associations of statutory health insurance physicians. The association represents the interests of gynecologists in public.

structure

Any gynecologist, including young doctors in further training, can become a member of the association upon request. The association has 17 regional and 75 district associations. The general manager and head of the office is Burkhard Scheele.

Christian Albring is also Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Specialists in Germany (SpiFa)

The Frauenärztliche Bundesakademie GmbH (FBA) was founded as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Professional Association of Gynecologists with the aim of promoting the further development of the subject and of further developing the quality of the gynecological profession through further training and quality assurance .

The Academy annually organizes an advanced training congress in Düsseldorf , numerous regional gynecology days, specialist advanced training for gynecologists, and certifies and recommends advanced training events.

Biggest supporter of organized by the woman Medical Academy Federal retraining of research collective is according to the database corrective the Bayer AG . Accordingly, the sum of 103,260 euros flowed in 2016, in 2015 it was 194,210 euros.

history

During the 28th congress of the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics under the direction of Heinrich Martius in Bad Pyrmont in 1951 , the general meeting decided to form a Gynecological Interest Group (IGG). During the founding meeting, F. Bernhard Rüder was elected as the first chairman of this association, after whom the Bernhard Rüder Medal was named at the end of the 1980s , which can be awarded as an award by the association to people who are particularly concerned with the issue of the professional association. In September 1956 the name was changed to Professional Association Gynecology . It was entered in the register of associations in September 1967 under the name of the Berufsverband der Frauenärzte eV . After German reunification in 1990, regional and district associations were founded in the new federal states. Among the first to be to build up the structures of the Association in the new federal states sought included Martin Link (1934-2005), Dresden , Hans-Joachim Seewald (* 1937), Jena , Reinhold Black (* 1929), Rostock , and Wolfgang Weise (1938–2006), Magdeburg .
