Beseech (engl. Woo, summon) is a 1992 in Borås (in Gothenburg was founded) Swedish dark rock - band .

history

In the year it was founded, Beseech published its first demo . At that time she played Death Doom with the use of classical instruments and female vocals , which initially brought her close to Gothic Metal .

The band signed their first record deal in 1995 with We Bite / Corrosion Records and recorded the album … From A Bleeding Heart , which was temporarily not released due to financial problems at the record company. This only succeeded two years later, when Beseech separated from their old label and signed with Metal Blade Records , which then brought the album onto the market in 1998. But within the two years Beseech had already collected a lot of new ideas and songs, so that they hardly concentrated on the promo tour for the old album, which was a while ago.

Shortly thereafter, the band split from Metal Blade Records and signed with Pavement Music after negotiating with several labels . The new material was increasingly based on Dark Rock , which from then on shaped the musical direction of the band. At this time, Beseech found a permanent singer in Lotta Höglin.

In the summer of 2000 the album Black Emotions was released , which received many good reviews. Shortly after a tour with the Theater of Tragedy and Lacuna Coil , however, the then singer Jörgen Sjöberg left the band. A replacement was found in Erik Molarin, who gave the music new facets with his very deep singing. Due to financial problems of the label, the album Black Emotions was hardly promoted. In 2001 Beseech left the label, as did several other bands.

With a newly recorded demo, the band got a contract with Napalm Records and released their third album, Souls Highway, in 2002. The album received good reviews around the world and a video clip was made for the song Between The Lines . In 2004 the album Drama was released, which surpassed the success of Souls Highway . The music on Drama was considered to be far harder and more complex. The fifth album followed in 2005, Sunless Days , which continued the musical development of the previous Drama . A computer-animated video was produced for the song Innerlane .

On October 19, 2006, the band announced their breakup on their website. The reason given was personal differences and different views about the musical future of the band. A farewell concert took place on December 15, 2006 in Boras, Sweden. In 2007 the double DVD The Drama Ends was released with live recordings and studio reports. Part of the last lineup formed the band The Mary Major .

On November 6, 2015, Beseech officially announced their comeback, with the band reformed with a new line-up by guitarists Robert Vintervind and Manne Engström and singer Klas Bohlin . The band signed a contract with Despotz Records and the single Beating Pulse was released that same day . In March 2016, the band's sixth album, My Darkness, Darkness, was released.
