The house at Bessunger Straße 87 is a listed half-timbered house . It is in the Bessungen district of the southern Hessian city of Darmstadt .
Architecture and history
The two-storey , eaves-facing, plastered half-timbered building was built in the 19th century. The house has a massive ground floor facing the street . The rest of the structure consists of a structural framework. Around 1900 the street facade was reshaped . The building now has a historicizing plaster ornamentation with pilaster- like corner accentuation , with decorative ornamental cornices and a rustified base . The house has a tiled hipped roof with dormer windows . In the upper floor and the dormer windows there are lattice windows .
Monument protection
As part of the village development in the center of Bessungen, the house is of urban significance. For architectural, architectural and city-historical reasons, the half-timbered house has the status of a monument according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act .
