Bet Kama (Hebrew: בית קמה; German: House of upright grain) is a kibbutz in the northern Negev and in the southern district of Israel . It falls under the jurisdiction of the B'nei Shimon regional administration . Bet Kama had 1,396 inhabitants in 2018.
The kibbutz was founded on April 18, 1949 and was originally called Safiach (Hebrew: ספיח). The current name comes from the Bible: Isaiah 17: 5. The founders of Bet Kama were immigrants from Hungary who belonged to the Hashomer Hatzair movement .
