Betsy Pecanins
Elizabeth Taylor "Betsy" Pecanins (* 1954 in Yuma , Arizona ; † December 13, 2016 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican singer of American descent, who was known as La reina del blues .
Pecanins lived most of their lives in Mexico and received Mexican citizenship in 1977. On the fourteen albums that she recorded, she sang duets with Tania Libertad , Margie Bermejo , Eugenia León , Amparo Ochoa , Guillermo Briseño , Cecilia Toussaint and Regina Orozco, among others . In Arturo Ripstein's film La reina de la noche she dubbed the singing voice of the actress Lucha Reyes . She was also involved as a singer in the films Hasta morir , Dos crímenes , Cilantro y perejil and Asesino en serio .
A spasmodic dysphonia forced her to quit her career as a singer. In the summer of 2015 she took over the show Ave Phoenix at the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris . a. Iraida Noriega , Verónica Ituarte and Regina Orozco , Jaime López , Guillermo Briseño and Rafael Mendoza participated. In 2016 she died of a stroke .
