Bettina Obrecht

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bettina Obrecht (born March 23, 1964 in Lörrach ) is a German writer and translator.

Career

After graduating from high school and a longer stay in Costa Rica, she first studied Spanish and English in Heidelberg in order to be able to finance her own writing as a freelance translator. Immediately after graduation, she received a scholarship for literature and has been a freelance writer and translator since 1990. Since then she has published numerous books for all age groups in renowned German children's book publishers, and has repeatedly written texts for radio, children's theater and for adults. Many of her books have been published as audio books and / or translated into other languages. Numerous excerpts from her texts can be found in school books in German-speaking countries. Your most important concern is to take children seriously without any "adult" or even "educational" arrogance. In addition to working in children's books, she writes prose and radio texts for adults, translates poetry and prose and participates in interdisciplinary projects, including with the musician and sound artist Werner Cee.
