Severin Johann Lederhilger OPraem (born July 23, 1958 in Lenzing ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic priest . Since 2005 he has been Vicar General of the Diocese of Linz .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1976, Johann Lederhilger studied law at the University of Linz until 1980. He then studied theology in Linz and Munich from 1981 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1991 canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. In 1982 he joined the Premonstratensian Canons of Schlägl , where he took the religious name Severin, and was ordained a priest in 1987. From 1990 he held various positions at the Linz Diocesan Court. In 1993 he became a full professor in canon law at the Catholic Theological University in Linz , where he was Rector from 1998-2000 and 2000-2002 , and from 2002-2006 that of Vice-Rector .

On September 18, 2005, Bishop Ludwig Schwarz appointed Lederhilger Vicar General of the Diocese of Linz and thus the successor to Maximilian Mittendorfer , whose deputy Lederhilger had been since 2003.
