Maximilian Mittendorfer
Maximilian Mittendorfer (born September 3, 1944 in St. Oswald near Freistadt ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic priest . From 2003 to 2005 he was Vicar General of the Diocese of Linz .
Life
After graduating from high school, Maximilian Mittendorfer studied theology in Linz and Rome . He was ordained a priest in 1975. After his chaplaincy in Wels , he became a spiritual director at the Episcopal Gymnasium Petrinum and from 1988 to 1995 pastor in Garsten . From 1995 to 2003 he was Regens at the Linz seminary . His successor was Andreas Pumberger.
Bishop Maximilian Aichern appointed Mittendorfer on September 1, 2003 as Vicar General of the Diocese of Linz and thus as successor to Josef Ahammer . In 2005 Severin Lederhilger succeeded him as vicar general and Mittendorfer was again Regens at the Linz seminary until 2009. On October 1, 2009, Mittendorfer was appointed episcopal vicar for social tasks by diocesan bishop Ludwig Schwarz . Since 2005 he has also been the spiritual assistant of the Catholic peace movement “ Pax Christi Austria”.
