Between the Screams was a British progressive metal band from Southend-on-Sea .
history
The singer Adam Ralph, the guitarist Daniel Waterhouse and the drummer already knew each other from a previous band. After they decided to take a harder musical direction, some members left the previous band and bassist Terry Blake and Chris Froment joined the band that was henceforth called Between the Screams. In early 2008, however, Mark Ravinet had to leave the band because he wanted to concentrate on his studies, whereupon he was replaced by Chris Horton. The band then began recording their first EP , which they had to interrupt briefly because singer Adam Ralph had contracted pneumonia . At the beginning of May the debut EP, Embryo, was released, which the band distributed itself.
In the summer of 2009 the band signed a recording contract with the British record label Basick Records , where they wanted to release their debut album , which was released on October 5, 2009 with Our Last Days on Earth . The album should first be produced by Jonny Renshaw from the band Devil Sold His Soul , but some band members lost their jobs and had to reorient themselves, so that a collaboration with Renshaw was not possible. Instead, the album was produced in the Welsh Mighty Atom Studios by Joe Gibb, who had already worked with bands like Funeral for a Friend . The cover was designed by Jon Barmby, who had previously done cover artwork for bands like Architects . In November 2009, the song Blood Red Dawn was played on Sam Carter's rock show on BBC Radio 1 .
Between March and April 2010, the band played alongside Among the Wolves on a tour through Great Britain and should have an appearance at Mammothfest , which they had to cancel at short notice. In addition, drummer Chris Horton resigned from the band in August, whereupon the band started looking for a new drummer. In May 2011 the band announced their breakup.
