Beutolomäus and the false suspicion is a German TV film by the director Hannes Spring from 2012 .
action
Little Louis has to keep moving with his mother because she is an artist who never stays in the same place for long. He doesn't like that because he can never make friends this way. When another move took place and Louis arrived in the small town of Hutzeldorf, he wrote a letter to Santa Claus. In this he writes his only wish: “Finally real friends”. But even Santa Claus gives himself up because he cannot give away any real friends either. When Louis is suspected of having damaged the Christmas crib in the church, Santa Claus sends his good friend Beutolomäus to Hutzeldorf to help find the real culprit. In a joint detective work, after comparing different tracks and footprints, the two succeed in identifying David as the perpetrator, but in the further course it turns out that he did not damage the crib on purpose, but only to love his girlfriend Julia to prove her.
David admits the crime to Louis and tells him to report his confession to the police. Louis, however, recognizes the connections and promises David to keep his secret to himself. However, when the police show up at the church to arrest Louis, David steps back and admits he is solely responsible. All parishioners spontaneously decide to repair the damage together.
The action ends with a peaceful nativity play in the church. In the final scene, Santa Claus and Beutolomäus set out to make children around the world happy with Christmas presents.

Reviews
Kino.de gives a benevolent rating: “[...] The cuddly gift bag with the black, round eyes and the big bulbous nose has already played the leading role in several pre-Christmas series and feature films, which are always a child-friendly mixture of fairy tale magic, thriller suspense and lots of humor are. This feature film from 2012 with little Tim Marco as Louis and Valerie Niehaus as his mother Liliane is no exception. A must for small and large 'Beuto' fans and all Christmas lovers. "
