Bevan Smith

Bevan Smith ( Bevan Duncan Smith; born July 18, 1950 in Lower Hutt ) is a retired New Zealand sprinter .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached the quarter-finals over 200 m . The following year he won bronze over 200 m at the Pacific Conference Games .

At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974, he won bronze over 200 m. He finished sixth over 400 m , seventh in the 4 x 100 meter relay and fifth in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 1977 he won the 400 m at the Pacific Conference Games.

At the Commonwealth Games 1978 in Edmonton, he was eliminated over 200 m in the quarterfinals, over 400 m in the semifinals and with the New Zealand 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.

Five times he was New Zealand champion over 200 m (1971-1975) and twice over 100 m (1971, 1974) and 400 m (1975, 1977).
