Mobile medical team

An ( air ) mobile medical team (BAT or LBAT) of the Bundeswehr consists of a doctor with training / further education in rescue medicine (at least medical officer ), a paramedic or emergency paramedic (at least sergeant ) and a paramedic (from the rank group of the teams or of the non-commissioned officers without portepee ). It is the military counterpart to the civil ambulance . Since the LBAT consists of two Wolf vehicles , a second paramedic (and driver at the same time) is added.

Tasks of the (L) BAT

The BAT is mainly used to escort a convoy with the aim of providing first medical care as soon as possible . To do this, he carries out emergency medical first aid and ensures that the wounded or injured can be transported.

Airmobile medical team

A special form of the mobile medical team is the air mobile medical team (LBAT). A special feature here is that the LBAT always has two 0.9 t trucks . One vehicle serves as an emergency doctor's vehicle (NEF) and is used to transport the medical equipment to the place of use, while the second vehicle is used as an ambulance (KTW) to transport the patient later. In the paratrooper troops, the BAT is dismounted on foot with a pulling cart for the required equipment. However, it was not intended to transport a wounded man.
