from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The district rabbinate in Ellingen , a town in what is now the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen ( Bavaria ), was set up by the Teutonic Order as an organization for the Jewish population within the Oberamt Ellingen in the Ballei Franken .

After the dissolution of the district rabbinate in 1806, when Ellingen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria , the Jewish communities of the district rabbinate Ellingen were subordinate to the district rabbinate Ansbach .
