Bi Feiyu

Bi Feiyu ( Chinese  毕飞宇 , Pinyin Bì Fēiyŭ , W.-G. Pi Fei-yŭ ; * 1964 in Xinghua , Jiangsu , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese writer. He writes stories , novels and screenplays (for example the film Shanghai Serenade ).

Between 1983 and 1987 he studied Chinese language and literature at the Pedagogical University in Yangzhou and then worked as a lecturer for five years. This was followed by six years of journalistic activity for a daily newspaper . Today he is the editor of a magazine publisher in Nanjing . He started writing in the mid-1980s. So far he has published several novels and volumes with short stories, which have been awarded the prestigious Lu Xun Literature Prize, among others . He is also the vice chairman of the Jiangsu Province Writers' Union .
