Bienvenido Troncoso

Bienvenido Troncoso (born March 22, 1909 in Santiago de los Caballeros , † December 1, 1961 in Santo Domingo ) was a Dominican singer, guitarist and composer.

Live and act

Troncoso was one of the most important Dominican singers and composers of the early 20th century. Troncoso's songs such as Allá en el edén , Ansias locas , Las notas de mi lira , A Natalia and Pálida como un lirio can be found on recordings of the Trío Borinquen from 1927 .

In 1929 he became a member of the Grupo Dominicano , with which he made recordings for RCA Victor in New York . Mostly he sang the second voice next to Eduardo Brito and played the guitar accompaniment. Troncoso's compositions Mi llegada a Macorís , Ingrata , Yo no creí , El triunfo and Tu desdén have been recorded .

Over the years Troncoso's songs have been sung and recorded by musicians such as Francis Santana and Pedro Licinio Valerio of the Cuarteto Marcano , the Trío Añoranzas , the Duo Emilio Capacetti - Miguel Ángel Torres and the Duo Víctor Víctor and Francis Santana. He himself undertook concert tours through the USA, Cuba and Puerto Rico and left behind a large number of representative Caribbean pieces of music.
