Bietzen is one of 17 districts of the district town of Merzig in the Merzig-Wadern district ( Saarland ) with almost 1000 inhabitants. Together with the districts of Harlingen and Menningen, Bietzen forms the Bietzerberg .

history

In 1222 Bietzen was mentioned for the first time under the name "Buoza" in a document from Archbishop Theodoric II.

In 2002 Bietzen celebrated the 1050th anniversary together with Harlingen and Menningen .
