Biff Rose
Paul Conrad "Biff" Rose (born October 15, 1937 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) is an American stand-up comedian and singer-songwriter .
The most famous song by Biff Rose, which he wrote with Paul Williams , is Fill Your Heart . In addition to Rose's own recording on his first album The Thorn in Mrs. Rose's Side (1968), the song was the B-side of the single Tiptoe through the Tulips by Tiny Tim (also 1968). Far better known, however, is the version by David Bowie on his 1971 album Hunky Dory .
Another song that Rose and Williams wrote together is I'll Walk Away , recorded by Rose for his third album, Biff Rose (1970).
Other songs by Biff Rose were re-recorded by Pat Boone ( What's Gnawing at Me on the 1969 album Departure ) and John Denver ( Molly on the 1970 album Take Me to Tomorrow ).
After the appearance of his debut album The Thorn in Mrs. Rose's Side , which contained the hit Buzz the Fuzz , Rose had a total of 12 appearances on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show between 1968 and 1970 . He was also a guest on other television shows. He made the announcements ( MC ) at the 1969 Atlantic City Pop Festival and the 1970 Atlanta International Pop Festival .
