Big mom
Big Mama ( pseudonym , also Bigu ; real name Besiana Kasami ; * 1986 in Tetovo ) is a North Macedonian singer. She belongs to the Albanian minority of North Macedonia . She describes her music as Hip Hop - R&B à la Big Mama - it contains elements of Hip Hop and R & B as well as alternative styles of music that she chooses herself. She does not always write her lyrics in standard Albanian , but sometimes also in Tetovo's Gegic dialect. Because of her appearance and her masculine behavior, she is one of the most provocative and well-known singers in the Albanian-speaking area.
Life
Besiana Kasami was born as the seventh and last child of an Albanian-speaking family in Tetovo ( Yugoslavia , now North Macedonia). Music has always played an important role for her. In childhood, she played like she was a singer and show host. Her father is a health center manager and supports his daughter in her career.
Kasami studied economic policy at the University of Pristina and in 2005 participated as Big Mama at the Top Fest in Tirana , where she received the Best Female award. In the competition, she appeared with the song Kot e Kot .
