bigFM Saarland is a regional radio broadcaster in Saarland and part of the bigFM radio network .

history

The station launched on September 5, 2005 on the previous frequencies of Jam FM . The rights holder is Skyline Medien Saarland GmbH, which is wholly owned by bigFM PPG SW GmbH based in Mannheim. The Saarbrücker Zeitung was also involved in Skyline Medien Saar until the beginning of 2019 . bigFM is the largest independent private broadcaster in Saarland, as Saarland Broadcasting is involved in Radio Salü .

program

BigFM's program is aimed primarily at younger listeners. This includes both the musical selection as well as direct and personalized addressing of the audience. The moderation gives the impression of being relatively spontaneous and deals with current everyday topics as well as distraction topics. Musically, pop , black music and electronic music are mainly played.

The main program is created by the bigFM network. In addition, there are national and regional news, service messages and audience campaigns. BigFM Saarland sends its own messages Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. the rest of the time, the messages are taken over by RPR1 , the owner of bigFM in Rhineland-Palatinate . From Monday to Friday there was a regional afternoon broadcast from 2:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

The station has a market share of 4.8% in Saarland (2019).
