Bijnor ( Hindi बिजनौर Bijanaur ; Urdu : بجنور) is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .

Bijnor is located in the north Indian plain 60 km northeast of Meerut . The Ganges flows south 7 km west of the city. The first mountain ranges of the Siwaliks rise 50 km north of the city . The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . Bijnor is located on the national highway NH 119 (Meerut - Srinagar (Uttarakhand) ).

As a city, Bijnor has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . At the 2011 census, Bijnor had 93,297 inhabitants.
