Bilaspur ( Hindi : बिलासपुर , Bilāspur ) is a city ( Municipal Council ) in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .
Bilaspur had 13,654 inhabitants at the 2011 census. The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
Bilaspur is located at an altitude of 558 meters on the left bank of the Satluj , which is dammed up by the Bhakra dam to the Gobindsagar reservoir .
