Bill Colvin

William Colvin (born December 3, 1934 in Toronto , Ontario , † November 3, 2010 in Huntsville , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

Bill Colvin began his career as a hockey player in the 1951/52 season in his hometown in the junior team of the Toronto St. Michaels Buzzers. He then played for three years for the junior team Toronto St. Michaels Majors. In the summer of 1955 he was signed by the amateur team Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen from the Ontario Hockey Association . With the team he represented Canada at the 1956 Winter Olympics. For the 1956/57 season he switched to professional ice hockey and signed a contract with the Toledo Mercurys from the International Hockey League . From 1957 to 1959 he spent one season each with the amateur teams Kingston CKL's and Kingston Merchants in the Ontario Senior Hockey League. In the 1960/61 season , the Canadian ran after a one-year break from ice hockey in three games for the Kingston Frontenacs from the Eastern Professional Hockey League . He last played in the 1961/62 season for the Alouettes de Rouyn-Noranda in the Northern Ontario Hockey Association. After his ice hockey career, Colvin worked as a lawyer.

International

For Canada , Colvin took part in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he and his team won the bronze medal.
