Bill Kitchen (born October 12, 1960 in Schomberg , Ontario ; † July 30, 2012 in Ottawa , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Montréal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs in the National from 1976 to 1986 Hockey League . His brother Mike was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Bill Kitchen began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey Association , where he was active from 1976 to 1980 for the Windsor Spitfires and Ottawa 67’s . During this period, the defender received a contract with the Montréal Canadiens as a free agent on October 23, 1979 . For the Canadians he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1981/82 season . During his involvement in the Canadiens franchise , however, he was mainly used for their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Nova Scotia Voyageurs . in August 1984 Kitchen was also hired as a free agent by the Toronto Maple Leafs . For the team from his native Ontario he scored a goal in 29 games in the 1984/85 season and prepared four more. Again, however, he played mainly in the AHL, where he was on the ice for Toronto's farm team St. Catharines Saints . There he ended his career in 1986 at the age of 25.
International
For Canada Kitchen took part in the Junior World Championship in 1980 , in which he finished fifth with his team.
