Bill Ladbury

Bill Ladbury (* 14. October 1891 in London , † 27. June 1917 in France ) was a British boxer in the flyweight .

Professional career

Ladbury fought his first professional fight in November 1908, and won his first national title just under three years later. On June 2, 1913, he boxed against Sid Smith for the British, European and world titles and won by technical knockout in round 11. He lost this title in his first defense in January of the following year to Percy Jones in a fight over 20 rounds unanimously on points.

In 1917, Bill Ladbury ended his career. In the same year he died as a British soldier in France.
