Billiard cloth
The billiard cloth is a functional textile for billiard tables.
As early as 1469, King Ludwig XI. pulling a pool cloth on his pool table. The cloths were initially produced by hand and since 1799 by Iwan Simonis and his brother in the factory. They were originally made of worsted yarn . Since the 20th century they have been woven with synthetic fibers such as nylon , polyester , Teflon or Trevira and produced in various qualities and colors.
Common qualities are:
- 90% wool + 10% nylon
- 90% wool + 10% Teflon
- 85% wool + 15% nylon
- 70% wool + 30% nylon
- 70% wool + 30% polyester
- 55% wool + 45% polyester
- 45% wool + 55% Trevira.
The decision for a certain quality depends on the quality of the game and the profitability. This states how long a cloth can be played on without a noticeable loss of playing quality being noticeable.
The cloth is stretched on all sides on the billiard table and glued or stapled using spray adhesive .

Guidelines
- Bundesliga clubs must coordinate with the German Billiards Union about the booking .
- League clubs are allowed to choose the booking of their tables in their league games.
