action
Bird Now is the semi-documentary attempt to approach the jazz legend Charlie Parker , nickname: "Bird". The climax of the cinematic feature are the two only original film recordings of the saxophonist.
Bird Now had its world premiere at the Belga Jazz Festival on November 10, 1987 in Liège ; the German premiere took place in the International Forum of Young Films at the Berlinale.
Reviews
Helmut Weihsmann wrote in Film.at : “Director Huraux acts like a snoop and not only offers a well-researched, complex monograph on the dead hero of a generation, but also creates a phantasmagoria about Parker's mission and vision. In addition, he creates an idea of the zeitgeist of the 'Lost Generation' without the usual schoolmaster's comments and references. "
