Birgit Seemann

Birgit Seemann (* 1961 in Bad Windsheim ) is a German social and political scientist .

She was one of the first researchers on the subject of the state and gender in the Federal Republic of Germany, and received her doctorate in 1996 under Josef Esser (political scientist) at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Afterwards she worked for many years at the Lexicon of German-Jewish Authors published by Renate Heuer and was the author of the Tribüne (magazine) . She has published biographies on Hedwig Lachmann , Jeanette Wolff and, for the first time, on Eleonore Sterling , an early anti-Semitism researcher sponsored by Max Horkheimer and the first German professor of political science . Since 2006 she is working on her research project mitaufgebauten Jewish Care History at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with the nationwide one-stop website social history of Jewish nursing in Germany.
