The Bischdorfer See ( Lower Sorbian Wótšowski jazor ) is an artificially created lake in the area of the places Bischdorf , Göritz , Groß Lübbenau and Raddusch in the district of Oberspreewald-Lausitz in Brandenburg . Lignite was mined here in the Seese-Ost opencast mine from 1960 to 1996, the remaining hole 23 was then flooded with water by the LMBV from 2000 to 2013 , creating today's lake as a post-mining landscape .
It is planned to use it primarily for tourism as a recreation park. A 26 km long circular route and beaches already exist, a campsite, restaurants, a holiday home area, shops and a landing pad for seaplanes are to follow. A connection to the nearby Slavic castle Raddusch is also planned .
