The diocese Caiazzo ( lat. : Dioecesis Caiacensis ) was one in Italy located Roman Catholic diocese based in Caiazzo .

history

The diocese of Caiazzo was established in the 9th century. The first bishop was Gisulfo .

On September 30, 1986, the diocese of Caiazzo was annexed to the diocese of Alife by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis .

The diocese of Caiazzo was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Capua as a suffragan . The Cathedral of Maria Santissima Assunta in Caiazzo was the cathedral of the diocese of Caiazzo. The diocese Caiazzo comprised 72 parishes and was 120 km² in size.
