Diocese of Daming

The Diocese of Daming (Taming) ( Latin : Dioecesis Tamimensis , Chinese : 天主教 大名 教区) is a bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church located in the People's Republic of China . It is also known as the Diocese of Handan .

The diocese was founded on March 11, 1935 by Pope Pius XI. founded as the Apostolic Prefecture of Taming and on July 10, 1947 by Pope Pius XII. raised to the diocese.

Ordinaries

Due to the political situation, the diocese could no longer be occupied until today. Nevertheless, other bishops were installed by the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association , most recently Peter Chen Bolu (1988-1993) and in 1993 Stephen Yang Xiangtai . Joseph Sun Jigen has been his coadjutor since 2007 , who rose to the position of diocesan bishop in 2011 from the perspective of the Roman Catholic Church .
