history
The diocese was established in the 3rd century. The first bishop was Nicaise . From 1275 to 1687 the Diocese of Die and the Diocese of Valence were administered in personal union. The diocese was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Vienne as a suffragan .
In 1741 the diocese included about 190 parishes .
On November 29, 1801, the Diocese of Die was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the Diocese of Grenoble .
