Diocese of Helsinki (Evangelical Lutheran)
The Diocese of Helsinki ( Finnish: Helsingin hiippakunta ) is a diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland .
The diocese is one of nine dioceses of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The diocese was founded in 1959 when the diocese of Tampere was divided . In 2002 the western area of the diocese was separated and the diocese Espoo was created as a further diocese . The Helsinki diocese includes the Finnish-speaking parishes in eastern Uusimaa . The bishopric is the Helsinki Cathedral .
