Georg Johann Theodor Lau

Georg Johann Theodor Lau (born July 11, 1813 in Schleswig , † December 20, 1873 in Hamburg-Ottensen ) was a German Protestant clergyman and church historian .

Life

After Georg Johann Theodor Lau, who was born in Schleswig on July 11, 1813, had attended a grammar school in his home town, he moved to Kiel University to study theology in 1832 . In 1836 he began working as a private tutor and passed his official theological examination two years later. For the next five years he worked again as a private tutor, in 1843 he became an assistant pastor in Hattstedt and Schobüll . Three years later he was transferred as pastor to Brunsbüttel and in 1855 to Hamburg-Ottensen. He died there on December 20, 1873 at the age of 60.

Lau was a member of the historical-theological society in Leipzig .
