The Diocese of Xingtai ( Latin : Dioecesis Scioenteanus ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Xingtai in the People's Republic of China .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Shunteh in 1933 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Zhengdingfu . On January 13, 1944, she was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate .
With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946. Bishop Hou Jinde, who died in 1994, is the namesake of the first Catholic non-profit organization, Beifang Jinde , which was recognized by the Chinese government.
