Yujiang Diocese
The Yujiang Diocese ( Latin : Dioecesis Iuchiamensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Yujiang in the People's Republic of China .
history
Pope Leo XIII. founded the Apostolic Vicariate East Jiangxi with the Breve Ex hac sublimi on August 2, 1929 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate North Jiangxi . In 1920 and 1921 it changed its name twice, first on August 25, 1920, it took the name, Vicariate Apostolic Fuzhou , and on June 1, 1921, Vicariate Apostolic Yükiang.
On November 29, 1932, it lost parts of the territory in favor of the establishment of the Kienchangfu Apostolic Prefecture . With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946. In 1990 Thomas Zeng Jing-mu became a secret bishop who was imprisoned for a long time.
