The Archdiocese of Nanchang ( lat. : Archidioecesis Nanciamensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Nanchang .
history
The Archdiocese of Nanchang was on October 15, 1696 by Pope Innocent XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution E sublimi Sedis from assignments of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Jiangxi and Zhejiang as Apostolic Vicariate Jiangxi . In 1838 the Apostolic Vicariate of Jiangxi was dissolved and the area was incorporated into the Apostolic Vicariate of Jiangxi and Zhejiang .
On March 27, 1846, the Apostolic Vicariate Jiangxi by Pope Gregory XVI. re-established with the Apostolic Constitution Ex debito from assignments of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Jiangxi and Zhejiang. The Apostolic Vicariate of Jiangxi was divided into the Apostolic Vicariates of South Jiangxi and North Jiangxi on August 19, 1879 . On August 28, 1885, the Apostolic Vicariate of North Jiangxi gave up parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Vicariate of East Jiangxi . The Apostolic Vicariate North Jiangxi was renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Kiou-Kiang on August 25, 1920 . On December 3, 1924, the Apostolic Vicariate Kiou-Kiang was renamed Apostolic Vicariate Nanchang .
The Apostolic Vicariate Nanchang was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to an archbishopric with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos .
