Bitdefender Internet Security is an Internet security suite from the Romanian software company Bitdefender . The program is aimed at Windows users and is intended to provide them with comprehensive protection against malware .
Functions
By using the program, users should be protected from viruses , Trojans , worms , spyware , adware and phishing attempts. Furthermore, it should secure network and e-mail use as well as the use of instant messaging programs and the registry of the system through additional components . The program also has functions for scanning compressed data and a cloud scanner. The suite also has a firewall filter, improved protection of minors and improved cloud spam protection.
Test results
Determined in a six-month endurance test, comparing the independent Magdeburg viruses institute AV-Test to detect strength of 26 security suites on Windows 7. The results published in August 2013 attested to the 2013er program version of Bitdefender Internet Security detection rate in the range of so-called zero-day malware from 100% and declared the program the test winner. In the regular test by security magazine valao , the 2016 version of the antivirus program received very good test marks that were above the industry average.

Internet Explorer 7 or higher is recommended as a browser . The program is compatible and can be integrated into Firefox 3.6 and higher as well as into the e-mail programs Thunderbird 3.0.4 , Outlook 2007, 2010 , Outlook Express and Windows Mail for x86.
