The Bitnami project provides ready-configured, easy-to-install application packages for various open source projects, some of which can be downloaded for free. Bitnami offers some packages for a fee and provides commercial user support.

Bitrock, an open source installer maker , sponsors Bitnami. Various cloud computing providers form partnerships with Bitnami.

Stacks

In addition to the software that gives it its name, the packages also contain the necessary infrastructure to operate the application. For example, the stack for the MediaWiki wiki software also contains the necessary environment ( Apache web server , MySQL and PHP (so-called LAMP )). A stack is encapsulated so that the user's operating system is not affected.

Bitnami offers stacks in three forms: Native Installer, Virtual Machine and Cloud Image

  • Bitnami Native Installers: For installation on the local IT system.
  • BitNami Virtual Machines: For operation in a virtual machine.
  • BitNami Cloud Images: For "installation" at a cloud provider. Oracle Cloud, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure are currently supported. The Open Telekom Cloud will be expanded in the first half of 2017.

There are u. a. Stacks for the following projects:
