Bitter Piece is a metal band from Osnabrück in Lower Saxony that was founded in 2004.

The members themselves describe their music with the neologism "Apocylyptic Thrash Attack". “This is made up” , says singer Mariano in an interview, “from our lyrics, which often want to capture and reproduce end-time moods, the basic music (Thrash) as such and the 'go wild live' (the attack), what sets us apart. "

The band name is derived from "Bitter Peace", a song by the US thrash metal band Slayer , which the Bitter Piece musicians state as one of their basic influences.

history

Bitter Piece were founded in Osnabrück in 2004, and they made their first appearance in 2006 with their debut EP Hell's Asylum . In the years that followed, Lower Saxony concentrated primarily on their energetic, intense live shows. The guys played gigs in support of Exodus , Heaven Shall Burn , Warbringer , Neaera and Gwar, among others .

In early 2012, Bitter Piece recorded their debut full-length album Vastyrion Rising in their own production. In August 2012, the band signed a record deal with Firefield Records , which released the album as a re-release and special edition . The reviews from the trade press were mostly positive.

In January 2013, the band went on their first headlining tour with the Swiss thrash metal band Total Annihilation , which led through northern and eastern Germany.

Trivia

The name "Vastyrion", merged from the words "vast" (= powerful) and "tyr" (abbreviation tyrant = tyrant) marks the name of the new band mascot, the "Vastyr", which appears on the current cover for the first time in the band's history -Artwork finds again.
