The Bitternbek is a right tributary of the Buckener Au in Schleswig-Holstein . The river has a length of approx. 3.2 km and forms the border between the Rendsburg-Eckernförde and Steinburg districts several times . It rises in the area of the municipality of Aukrug south of the Boxberg and flows east of Grauel into the Buckener Au. The upper course of the Bitternbek is dammed for several fish ponds .
