Roger Blachnik

Roger Blachnik (born September 26, 1936 in Schwerin ) is a German chemist .

Life

Blachnik studied from 1958 to 1962 at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1967 he was at the time of Technology in Clausthal Armin Schneider with a thesis on enthalpies of III-V compounds doctorate . In his Post Doc at the Fulmer Research Institute (today: BNF-Fulmer ) in Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire , Great Britain 1967/1968 , he and P. Gross dealt with the enthalpy of formation of carbides . In 1972 he completed his habilitation with a thesis on thermochemistry of chalcogenides at the TU Clausthal . After working as a private lecturer at the Clausthal University of Technology, he became a scientific adviser and professor at the U-GH-Siegen, today's University of Siegen , in 1974 . Blachnik was dean of the chemistry department from 1979 to 1981.

In 1984, he received a call to the chair of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Osnabrück and head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry of the University. Blachnik was a liaison professor for the DFG at the University of Osnabrück. He retired in 2001 .

Blachnik has published around 250 scientific papers on the topics of ternary systems containing sulfur , selenium or tellurium , reactivity of intermetallic phases and the representation of electro-optical materials.

Blachnik has been the chairman of the Catholic Family Association in Niederdielfen since 2005 .
