history
A settlement of the area around the Dielfe can be traced back to the La Tène period around 500 BC. Be spoken. The first settlers had advanced from the Rhine into the Siegerland to find ore and iron . The iron stone could be mined on the surface of the earth ; the dense jungle provided the charcoal for smelting. The slag heaps of the first iron production sites can still be found in many places today.
Niederdielfen was first mentioned in a document in 1330 as "Dyspe". "Dielfen" was first mentioned with the signature "Syfridus de Dylfft", who signed a document on December 21, 1333 as a witness. In 1344 the Lords of Bicken received the major and minor tithe. On March 28, 1389, the nobles of Achenbach sell their tithe to the Lords of Wildenburg. A place at that time, Ober- and Niederdielfen have split and have been two separate places since 1408, when Oberdielfen was first mentioned in a document . Finally, in 1461, “Nydern Dilphe” is mentioned for the first time and is therefore almost 550 years old. In 1599, a tax estimate counted 31 houses in the village.
The first school in town was probably built in 1659 . "1609, where there was not yet a Catholic in the village," it says in an act from 1760, in the great school dispute. The Grimberg mine was in operation from 1794 to 1910 . Next to it there was the Morgenglück mine until 1902. This had a shaft measuring 2.50 mx 3.25 m, which was filled. The original headframe of the Grimberg mine in Niederdielfen was demolished in 1911 when operations ceased.
In 1825, a major fire destroyed six houses. On March 23, 1884, the painter Adolf Saenger was born. The multi-purpose hall near the secondary school is named after him. In 1903 the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart was consecrated. The first electrical lines were used in 1914.
In 1815 Niederdielfen was assigned to the Wilnsdorf office in the province of Westphalia , Free State of Prussia , which in turn was assigned to the German Confederation from 1815 to 1866 and to the federal state of the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1870 and to the German Empire from 1871 to 1945 . From August 23, 1946 to September 21, 1949 Niederdielfen was part of the British zone of occupation . With the introduction of the federal structure of the Federal Republic of Germany, the place belonged to the municipality Wilnsdorf in the district of Siegen and the administrative district of Arnsberg in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
In 1961 Niederdielfen celebrated its 500th anniversary. On January 1, 1969, the Wilnsdorf office was dissolved and the previously independent municipality of Niederdielfen was incorporated into the new large municipality of Wilnsdorf as part of the municipal reorganization .
In September 2012, the construction area “Am Grimberg”, comprising 12 plots of land and measuring approx. 6000 m², was approved for development.

Headframe
In the area of the municipality of Wilnsdorf a total of eight mines were in operation until the beginning of the 20th century, including the mines "Friedenseiche I. and II.", "Ewald", "Ameise" and "Junge Ameise" in Niederdielfen.
The “ Grimberg ” mine in Niederdielfen was opened for civil engineering in 1865. With 14 levels the depth was 782 m. From 1891, the dismantling process for the 170 workforce was switched to compressed air. In 1910 the mine was closed. The original headframe was demolished in 1911.
In 1995, the winding tower of the Julianschacht from Bensberg was rebuilt on the mine site and thus reminds of the almost 2500-year history of mining and iron smelting in the region. Although it does not come from the region, the 16-meter-high tower with its shaft building is to be regarded as typical of the conveyor systems in Siegerland.
Watermill
The Niederdielfen watermill from the first half of the 18th century, located on the Filsbachälchen, was restored to working order in 1992/93 and can be viewed several times a year in operation. The grinder of the mill including the partly forged and partly made of cast iron mechanics has been completely preserved. However, the date of construction cannot be precisely determined. The mill is documented from the first half of the 18th century, oral traditions go back to the year 1729. This data can be found in the hall book, but also in the death book of the Protestant parish Rödgen: In Netpher Land, in Flammersbach, there was already a mill in the Filsbach valley in 1570. “In 1658, on November 2nd, Heinrich Heiten's daughter Catherine was buried; as such, with a sack of grain, drove to the low Dielfen near the mills "
Hermitage
The Hermitage pilgrimage site dates back to 1684. This pilgrimage site includes a chapel, a saint's house with a hermit's grave, a way of the cross, a forest altar and a hermit hermitage. In the chapel there is an altar from 1736. The hermitage is one of the oldest half-timbered houses in the Siegerland.
The Hermitage pilgrimage site was expanded in 1953 with the establishment of the Monastery of the Order of the Poor Clares (OSC); In 2014 the monastery was given up.

The men's choir was founded in 1924, the women's choir in 1995 and the “MusiKids” children's choir of the Weißtaler Herren-Gesang-Verein Niederdielfen in 1924 (Weißtaler MGV Niederdielfen 1924).

Niederdielfen is the seat of the Luise Gräb Foundation.
Economy and Infrastructure
traffic

In the middle of the village, the district road 18 branches off, which is also called "Grimbergstrasse" and leads in the direction of the "Hermitage" and meets the federal road 54 there.
The Dill line has existed since 1915 , to which Niederdielfen is connected with a train station, but which is no longer served by passenger traffic today. The construction time of the railway with the large viaduct in place was five years.
Industry
At the exit of the village in the direction of Kaan-Marienborn is the Industriestraße industrial area with a size of almost 17 hectares. The largest employers are Siegenia-Aubi KG (fittings and ventilation technology) and the Weißtalwerk (steel high-rise and lightweight steel structures, traffic structures and crane systems). The construction company Runkel from Siegen operates a precast plant.
