Location of the village Oberdielfen within the municipality of Wilnsdorf.

Oberdielfen is a northern part of the municipality of Wilnsdorf in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Dielfe (here at Niederdielfen)

Oberdielfen is located about 7 km southeast of Siegen , about 3 km (depending on the beeline ) north of Wilnsdorf or directly south of Niederdielfen at an altitude of between 310 and 370  m . The 430  m high Astenberg is located about 1.2 km southwest of the Oberdielfen town center.

The village is traversed by the 3 km long Dielfe , in the valley of which the village lies and which is the namesake for Ober- and Niederdielfen. It rises at the foot of the Höhwäldchen (foothills of the Hoheroth; 451  m above sea  level ) and flows into the Weiß coming from the west in Niederdielfen . The Oberdielfen district has an area of 4.44 km².

In the district of Oberdielfen there was a former manor whose history has only recently been researched and published. In the specialist literature - Ludwig Bald: Das Fürstentum Nassau-Siegen - not mentioned, this manorial court, then a Prussian domain, became municipal property, and finally private property, as all households in the upper Dielfetal got together and acquired it together. For centuries, various feudal people and tenants paid taxes from the "Stockeland", but no one knew how big the "Stockelandsgut" was or where it was located in the offices up to and including the Nass.-Orange government in The Hague.

Neighboring places

Neighboring towns of Oberdielfen are Niederdielfen in the north, Anzhausen in the northeast, Rudersdorf in the east, Wilnsdorf in the south, Rinsdorf in the southwest and Obersdorf in the west.

history

"Dielfen" is first mentioned with the signature "Syfridus de Dylfft", who signs a document on December 21, 1333 as a witness. In 1344 the Lords of Bicken received the major and minor tithe. On March 28, 1389, the nobles of Achenbach sell their tithe to the Lords of Wildenburg. On April 29, 1408, Oberdielfen was given this name. In 1461, 13 households are subject to tax.

Part of Oberdielfen

On February 16, 1803, Reichsgraf von Hatzfeld-Wildenburg / Schönstein sold his tithe to the residents of Oberdielfen. On August 13, 1850, the community representatives reject the merger with Niederdielfen. On February 14, 1873, the lead ore mine Silberkrone started operations, but it was closed again in 1880. On April 12, 1885, the men's choir Unity was founded . The trombone choir began its work in 1899. In 1902/03 the FC Adler Oberdielfen was founded .

The third school building was inaugurated on January 13, 1930, before the second chapel school had been occupied in 1822. Oberdielfen belongs to the old parish of Rödgen, whose affiliation to which diocese has not yet been fully clarified. Presumably this is Worms, although the missionary work of the Siegen Land from Hesse was carried out by the Mainz church.

On January 1, 1969, the Wilnsdorf office was dissolved and the previously independent municipality of Oberdielfen was incorporated into the new large municipality of Wilnsdorf as part of the municipal reorganization .

On December 8th, 1976 the Protestant parish hall was inaugurated. The Heimatverein is founded on May 5, 1984. Eckhardt Behrendt's local chronicle with the history of the houses by Adolf Wunderlich and Gerhard Pankratz was published under his direction in 1994. Today there is only one kindergarten with a civic hall in the school building. The Oberdielfen elementary school was relocated to Niederdielfen on April 15, 1990 by a council resolution.
