Black Bile is a Finnish industrial and alternative metal band from Helsinki that was formed in 2007.

history

The band was founded in 2007 by Henri Kuittinen. In addition to the songwriting , Kuittinen also takes on the electric guitar, the synthesizer, the vocals, the sampling and the music programming . In December of that year, the band was the first group to receive a record deal with English-language lyrics with Sakara Records , a label operated by members of Mokoma . The line-up had meanwhile expanded to a quintet. The debut album Great Ape Language was recorded in the Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna with producer Janne Saksa . After it was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios , it was released in April 2008.

style

Valtteri from germaniac.com stated in his review of the album that the band plays metal and uses influences from industrial , post-punk , new wave and pop , among other things . For him, the album turned out to be interesting and complex. Since you process a lot of influences in music, it is difficult to listen to one another at first, but you mix these elements into your own style. The songs alternate between cracking riffs , dark and sentimental acoustic guitars and minimal electronic elements. However, the most prevalent are depressive and melancholic sounds. Occasionally they also use elements from Death Metal . Mark Holmes from metal-discovery.com also noticed a melancholy mood on the album. In the songs, the group uses set pieces from industrial, post-rock , thrash metal , death metal and hardcore punk . He found similarities to Katatonia , The Beatles and Pink Floyd . In addition, palm muting would be used in the songs .
