The Black Burn is a watercourse in the Scottish Borders , Scotland . It arises from the confluence of the Cauldwell Sike , Rough Gill , Long Gill and Hog Gill east of the Cooms Fell and flows in an easterly direction to its confluence with the Liddel Water north of Newcastleton .
