Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame

The Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, Inc. (BFHFI) was founded in 1973 in Oakland .

It supports and promotes black film projects and preserves the contributions of African American artists, regardless of whether they work in front of or behind the camera. The non-profit organization also supports screenings of films by and about people of African descent and presents the Oscar Micheaux Award every February at the Paramount Theater in Oakland.
