The Blackwater River ( English for " Blackwater River ") is a right tributary of the Mackenzie River in the Northwest Territories of Canada .
The Blackwater River rises south of Fish Lake and Tseepantee Lake . From there it flows north to Blackwater Lake , which it flows through in a westerly direction. It then breaks through the Franklin Mountains and continues its course to the west and finally flows into the Mackenzie River about 60 km north of Wrigley . The Blackwater River has a length of about 250 km.
