Career

Clubs

Dovydas Kulevičius began his career as a ice hockey player with the Lithuanian record champions Energija Elektrenai , for whom he made his debut in the then East European Hockey League in 1997 at the age of 15 . In the next few years he played for Energija both in the EEHL and in the top Lithuanian league. From 2003 to 2005 he took part with his team in the Latvian ice hockey league . With the exception of the years 2000 and 2002 he was Lithuanian champion with SC Energija. In 2005, Kulevičius moved to the Latvian club DHK Latgale in Daugavpils . After only one year, the then 24-year-old returned to Elektrėnai and again won the championship title with the team in 2007. While he was again active in Daugavpils in 2007/08, he went back to Elektrėnai in 2008 and was again Lithuanian champion. He also played with his club in the Latvian ice hockey league , where he was the top scorer and also provided the most assists. In the meantime he had developed into a wanderer and moved to the Belarusian extra league for HK Brest in 2009 . But even there it only lasted a year, because he moved to the Scorpions de Mulhouse in the French second division . With the Alsatians, however, he could not prevail. In the first season he only played one game and after being used in seven games at the beginning of the 2011/12 series, he returned to his home club in Elektrėnai, with whom he again became Lithuanian champions in 2012 and 2013. From 2013 to 2016 he played with Energija in the Belarusian Wysschaya League , the second highest division in the country. After returning to the Lithuanian league for a year in 2016, where he played for the Vilnius Hockey Punks , he has been active again for Energija in the Vysschaya League since 2017.

International

For Lithuania, Kulevičius already took part in the junior division in world and European championships: in the 18 division he played at the C-European championships in 1997 and 1998 and the world championships in the European division I in 1999 and 2000 . With the Lithuanian U20 selection, he first took part in the C World Championships in 1999 and 2000 . After switching to the current division system, he played at the U20 World Championships in Division II in 2001 and 2002 .

He made his debut in the Lithuanian men's national team at the World Cup in Division II in 2002 when the Lithuanians were promoted to Division I with five wins from five games and 71: 6 goals. But at the 2003 World Cup , relegation in Division I could not be achieved. Group B of Division II of the 2004 World Cup was then held in Elektrėnai at home and Kulevičius and his team promptly succeeded in returning to Division I. At the 2005 World Cup , the Lithuanians were able to defeat Romania and two draws against the Netherlands and neighbor Estonia for the first time in Division I, in which Kulevičius was then also on the ice in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015 . Only in 2011 was his name missing from the Lithuanian World Cup line-up. He also took part in qualifying for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , qualifying for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
