Blake Smith (born January 17, 1991 in El Paso , Texas ) is an American football player serving as a midfielder . He is currently under contract with San Antonio FC .
Career
youth
Between 2006 and 2009, Smith played at Boerne High School , where he was used for the high school football selection. He received various awards for his achievements and was nominated for various regional selection teams.
Smith studied at the University of New Mexico , where he was called up to the New Mexico Lobos , the university's football selection team. For the New Mexico Lobos Smith played in 68 games in which he was able to achieve a total of 13 goals.
Club career
In 2012 Blake Smith played for the Austin Aztex in the USL Premier Development League . He came there on two missions in which he prepared a goal.
In the 2013 MLS SuperDraft , Smith was selected and signed by Montreal Impact . Smith made his first professional football game on March 30, 2013 against Sporting Kansas City , and scored his first professional goal against the Philadelphia Union on May 25 of the same year. In the 2013 MLS season , Smith was used in 16 games for Impact, he scored two goals. That season remained the most successful for Smith at Impact.
In the 2014 season , Smith could no longer prevail and only came on three substitutions. In May 2015, Impact Smith finally announced that he no longer had any prospects with the franchise and terminated his contract with him. Smith finally moved to the Swiss third division club Yverdon-Sport FC . In December 2015 he moved back to the USA for NASL club Miami FC .
