Blanche Huber

Blanche Huber (* 1900 in Birkirkara , Malta ; † July 19, 1940 ) was the first female doctor in Malta.

Life

Blanche Huber was born in Birkirkara in 1900 as the son of Hon Joseph Huber and later married Joseph Caruana, a medical colleague. She began studying medicine at the University of Malta in 1919 , making her one of the first female students at the university. She graduated in 1925. However, she only worked as a pharmacist in Żejtun .

Huber died on July 19, 1940 at the age of 40. The Blanche Huber Street in Sliema was named after her.
